Dream: A Heavenly Portal

Pink, blue, and yellow.  Pink, blue, and yellow.  Pink, blue, and yellow.  (Or was it pink, green, and yellow?)  Like a strand of DNA, the pastel squares formed a spiral.  I was dreaming of a heavenly portal that stretched from heaven to earth. The spiral began somewhere deep in space, and I was looking through it.

Does a heavenly portal sound absurd?  Jacob didn’t think so.

And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.  And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.  And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.  And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.  And, behold, I am with thee and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.  And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.  And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.   And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.  And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first (Genesis 28: 10-19 KJV).  And this stone, which I have set for a pillow, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee (Genesis 28: 22 KJV).

I must have dreamed about a heavenly portal after I heard Perry Stone talking about Jacob.  I didn’t see any angels–or heaven, but this was one of my better dreams, and I wanted to share it.

Sheryl, this is a very good post as usual and I would like to share it, with some related thoughts on the possibility of portals. Is it possible the Tower of Babel was being built at a location of a portal? From the verses below, pay close attention to the Words and if was not possible, why did’t God just let them waist their time? Genesis 11:5-8 “And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded . 6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. 8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.”

In verse 6 the Lord said, “and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.” In verse 7 the Lord said, “let us go down.” I take it the Lord took some Angels with Him.

    The Tower of Babel

Genesis 11:1-9 (KJV) “And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.”

I never thought of that, Micheal. Maybe Babel was a portal of sorts. I wonder where the Tower of Babel was and if the ruins still exist? After I read your comment, I did an Internet search on “Where is the Tower of Babel?” Most agree that the Tower of Babel was a ziggurat, a stepped piramid. Ziggurats were a common feature in Southern Mesopatamia (Iraq). Heroditus wrote about the Tower of Babel in 440 B.C. One or two Web sites mentioned “Eridu” as a location for the Tower of Babel. I will try to find out more. Perry Stone talks about portals–to heaven and hell. I think that the place where Jacob had the dream about the angels is now the Temple Mount. .Some beleive that Moravian Falls in NC is also a heavenly portal.

You mentioned that God said, “Let us come down.” I’m not sure if “us” is a reference to God and the angels or if it’s a reference to the Trinity. It sounds similar to Genesis 1: 26: “Let Us make man in Our image” (NASB). Thank you for your comments. I’m really interested in finding out where the Tower of Babylon was/is.

      Sheryl,

I agree with you, it could very well be referring to the Trinity, when I quoted “God said, Let us come down.” I also agree that Jacob had the dream about the angels is the Temple Mount. When you have time, please watch the video by Rob Skiba. Toward the end of the video Rob Skiba talks about Nimrod and the Tower of Babel.
The best I remember, Rob also talks about the Temple Mount being a portal. The video is very interesting and I encourage you to watch the entire video, when you have time. Please allow about an hour and a half to view the video at: http://dedicated2jesus.com/the-days-of-noah/

Thanks, Michael. I’d like to watch that video you suggest about Babel. Also, if I can ever figure out how to reblog your articles, I’ll take to repost that excellent video on your blog about the commandments.
