This is the dust jacket to a novel edition of THE MERRY WIDOW (The Readers Library Publishing Company LTD).  The dust jacket depicts a scene from THE MERRY WIDOW silent film (MGM, 1925). Dancing with Mae Murray to “The Merry Widow Waltz” made John Gilbert famous in the same way that the tango launched Rudolph Valentino to fame.
